Letters to Bellalete from The Mustangs 805
My name is Maggie Moore and I am part of the 12u 805 Lady Mustangs travel team. We started about 10 months ago under our head coach, Dustin Snider. We are from the Central Coast of California. We just moved up to 12u in the fall. We have two other coaches, Kim and Andy, who help us with hitting and fielding.
My team is fun and energetic and we all get along well together. Prior to everything being canceled, our team was planning to go to watch the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo softball team play. Hopefully, we’ll get to do something together soon.
We had our first Zoom meeting a couple of weeks ago and it was great to be able to see each other. Coach Dustin has encouraged us to practice at home (catching/throwing with family; tennis ball drills from Instagram and YouTube; and hitting if we have access).
I miss practicing with my team and playing in tournaments. I also miss cheering in the dugout. Our coaches not only teach us how to be better softball players but they teach us how to have a positive attitude, be respectful, and encourage each other.
I pitch and play infield (third, shortstop and now second). I’ve played softball since
I was 5 years old and I’ve loved it.
While I’m at home, I’m continuing to do school work and hang out with my family. I’m drawing (thank you for doing the art contest) and trying to learn how to play the ukulele. My dad invented a game that my brother and I play in the garage with a tee, whiffle ball, and an inside bat. I’m getting really good at it.
Thank you for all you do!
We love our Bellalete pants!
Thank you so much, Maggie, for sending in the photos and the letter, we love to hear what's going on in the lives of the girls in the dirt!
PS We love your artwork!
